In Turkey's Akçakoca district of Düzce province, the municipality leadership has passed from CHP (Republican People's Party) to AK Party (Justice and Development Party).

Modern.az reports that NTV television channel disseminated information about this.
Thus, based on the results of the voting held in the municipality, AK Party candidate Alev Ünal won. Ünal, who was elected deputy mayor, collected 9 out of a total of 19 votes. His opponent, CHP candidate Naim Tok, managed to get only 5 votes in the election. 1 vote was considered invalid.

It should be recalled that Akçakoca district's CHP mayor Fikret Albayrak was arrested and removed from office as part of a corruption investigation. In this regard, a vote was held in the municipal council to elect a new leader.
