US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and the radical "Hezbollah" movement have reached an agreement on a cessation of military operations.

Modern.az reports that he stated this on the "Truth Social" social network.

"I had a very productive conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. No (Israeli - ed.) troops will go to Beirut, they will return," Trump wrote. According to him, he also held talks with "Hezbollah", which agreed to a ceasefire through high-ranking representatives.

"Israel will not attack them, they will not attack Israel," the US President noted.

Earlier, "Axios" reported, citing Ali Hamdan, advisor to the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, that "Hezbollah" was ready for an immediate and complete ceasefire with Israel. The Israeli government spokesman, in turn, confirmed that the movement was ready for a ceasefire without the immediate withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon.
