Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei approved the request of the head of the judiciary regarding the pardon, commutation, or alteration of sentences for 2,000 individuals convicted by courts, on the occasion of Ghadir-Khum holiday, which holds similar significance to Eid al-Adha.

According to information released on Friday, the head of the Iranian Judiciary, Mohseni Ejei, in a letter addressed to the Supreme Leader, requested the pardon, reduction, or replacement of sentences for 2,000 individuals convicted by general and revolutionary courts, the armed forces' judicial system, and government disciplinary bodies. Mojtaba Khamenei agreed to this request.
