The advancement of "Sabah" football club to the main stage of the Champions League is considered an unexpected success in European football.

It is reported that despite the club being founded in Baku in 2017, it quickly became one of the country's leading teams.
"Sabah" qualified for the main stage of the Champions League by defeating Israel's "Hapoel Beer Sheva" club with a score of 6:4 over two matches in the play-off round.
Thus, for the first time in the club's history, it gained the right to compete in the main stage of Europe's most prestigious club tournament.
The beginning of the team's head coach Valdas Dambrauskas's football career also has an interesting history. In 2002, after winning a cash prize in a television quiz in Lithuania, he went to England and participated in UEFA coaching courses. He later worked at English clubs "Fulham" and "Brentford", as well as at the "Manchester United" academy.
In the main stage, "Sabah" will face European giants such as "Barcelona", Dortmund "Borussia", "Napoli", "Arsenal" and "Manchester United".
