The Kremlin criticized the foreign policy course of the Armenian leadership, stating that Yerevan artificially forced the country to choose between European and Eurasian integration.
Modern.az reports that Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov made a statement about this.
Peskov emphasized that Armenia has not actually participated in the activities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) for a long time.
The Kremlin official stated that Yerevan's official statements announcing the freezing of its participation in collective security formats and choosing a line of rapprochement with the European Union (EU) further increase the uncertainty in Armenia's future relations with both the CSTO and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Peskov added that although Armenia legally remains a member of the CSTO and EAEU, in practice its activity in the work of this structure has been minimized.
