Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed to all types of ship passages.
Modern.az reports that, according to information released by the Iranian side, the decision applies to all maritime transport vehicles, including oil tankers and merchant ships.
It was stated that any vessel attempting to pass through the strait would have its movement interfered with.
It should be noted that the Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the strategic sea routes through which a significant part of world oil trade is carried out. Any restrictions in this region could seriously affect global energy markets.
