Tehran unexpectedly put forward new and harsh conditions to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the construction of the "Trump Road" (TRIPP).
Modern.az reports that Armenian media spread information about this.
It was stated that the Iranian authorities demanded that the security of the TRIPP project be ensured either by the Armenian Armed Forces or by the armed forces of a third country already located on the territory of Armenia. It is assumed that the Russian Armed Forces are meant here.
According to the information, Tehran is trying to prevent the appearance of US servicemen near its borders. Otherwise, in the increasingly escalating conflict, the Iranian side may consider US servicemen a legitimate target.
This further complicates the implementation of the initiative, which is already "paralyzed" and is considered the main project of Yerevan's foreign policy.
