In the first half of 2026, a total of 463,965 people visited the museums and reserves operating under the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture.

This was reported by the institution in response to a query from Modern.az

According to the information, 342,305 visitors went to museums, and 121,660 visitors went to historical and cultural reserves. Of those who visited the reserves, 70,787 were local, and 50,873 were foreign visitors.

Among the reserves, the most visited place was Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve with 63,906 people. The following places were Ganja State Historical-Cultural Reserve (22,259 people), "Genocide Memorial Complex" located in Guba city (17,224 people), "Pir Huseyn Khanagah" Historical-Architectural Reserve (7,522 people) and "Chiraggala-Shabran" State Historical-Cultural Reserve (3,420 people).

During the reporting period, 9 of the reserves were connected to the "iTicket" platform.

As for museums, in the first six months, a total of 342,305 people visited them, including 275,886 local and 66,419 foreign visitors.

The museum that received the most visitors was the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and its Shusha branch. 72,811 people (23,307 local, 49,504 foreign) visited here.

The Azerbaijan National Art Museum was visited by 24,685 people, the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan by 14,395 people, and the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi by 5,836 people. The total number of visitors for other museums was 224,578 people.
