Iran has demanded compensation from Ukraine for damages incurred as a result of the incident involving the ship.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
According to him, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister informed him that the incident was not intentional and that Kyiv did not intend to escalate the situation.
"The Ukrainian Foreign Minister assured me that the attack on the Iranian ship was not intentional and that Ukraine is not seeking escalation. Iran also does not want an increase in tension. However, we clearly stated that any attack against our citizens or interests is unacceptable. Compensation for the damage must be absolutely ensured," Araqchi emphasized.
