The Iraqi government is considering increasing daily oil exports to Turkey to 1 million barrels.
Modern.az reports that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi stated this after talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdoğan said at a joint press conference that the Iraqi side is evaluating the possibility of supplying Turkey with 1 million barrels of oil per day. Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi confirmed this information, saying, "Yes, that's right - 1 million."
Ali al-Zaidi noted that his first official visit to Turkey serves to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
According to him, the parties also discussed cooperation in energy, transport, education, water resource management, and the large-scale "Development Road" transport project, which will connect the Persian Gulf countries with world markets through Iraqi territory.
