Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Donald Trump that Israel would not launch a military operation against Iran on its own initiative without Washington's request.
Modern.az reports that the Associated Press agency disseminated this information, citing Israeli sources.
According to the information, Netanyahu emphasized during talks with Trump that if Iran attacks Israel, Tel Aviv reserves the right to retaliate.
The Prime Minister also stated that Israel would continue to transfer new intelligence information it obtained regarding Iran to the US. He noted that he understood that Washington was forced to consider the position of its Arab allies in the Middle East on the Iranian issue.
Netanyahu also told Trump that Israel fully trusts the US on the Iranian issue and will support any decision made by the American leader.
It is noted that before the meeting between Netanyahu and Trump, the Al-Monitor portal, citing sources, wrote that the Israeli prime minister planned to present new strike plans against Iran to the US president. According to the information, potential targets included Iranian industrial facilities, bridges, and railway infrastructure.
It should be recalled that the next tension between the US and Iran began on July 8. The US army launched several strikes on Iranian territory in response to an attack on a merchant ship in the Strait of Hormuz. On the same day, Donald Trump announced the end of the ceasefire with Iran.
In response, Tehran organized attacks on US facilities located in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, and Oman. On July 24, the parties stopped mutual strikes.
