US President Donald Trump has said that the US is ready to gradually lift its unilateral sanctions against Iran as Tehran abides by the terms of the agreements reached with Washington.
Modern.az reports that Trump said this at a press conference on the results of the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, France.
“The sanctions currently in force do not allow Iran to recover economically. They would have no money, the country would remain in poverty. But as soon as they start behaving properly, there will be some changes. If they fulfill their obligations, we will lift the sanctions,” the US President said.
Trump noted that he had previously imposed sanctions against various countries and individuals, and then lifted those restrictions under certain conditions.
