Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has nominated TV presenter Nanuka Jorjoliani for the chairmanship of the opposition United National Movement party.

He emphasized that for this reason it is important to hold transparent and democratic elections that exclude possible interference by the authorities.
According to the former president, not cosmetic, but fundamental changes await the United National Movement. He noted that Nanuka Jorjoliani has the necessary experience, energy and vision to lead the party.
Saakashvili also called for open voting in intra-party elections. He invited all candidates to participate in the election process, stating that this competition should be a competition between ideas and programs, not between individuals.
