Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan gave an interview to the media during his visit to Russia.
Modern.az reports that in the interview, he also touched upon the South Caucasus and the process of normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations.
Hakan Fidan stated that an agreement was reached on launching the "3+3" format in the South Caucasus within the framework of the visit. He emphasized that this format is a very important mechanism in terms of deepening cooperation between Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Armenia and Georgia.
Touching upon the normalization of relations with Armenia, the minister noted that the Nikol Pashinyan government has taken very important steps. He noted that as a result of the political will of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a number of important steps were taken, including the establishment of direct trade and air links.
Hakan Fidan emphasized that the work to be done in the new stage is clear and added:
"The Pashinyan government has taken very important steps in the issue of normalization. With the will of our president, many important steps have been taken, including the establishment of direct trade and air transport. What else needs to be done in the new period is also clear. We are ready for normalization when the necessary conditions are created."
