The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has sent a motion to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to revoke the parliamentary immunity of Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party.
Modern.az reports that the information was confirmed to "Sputnik Armenia" by the press service of the Armenian CEC. The p did not disclose within the framework of which criminal case the motion was submitted.
According to a number of media outlets, the issue may be considered on June 26, after the Armenian Constitutional Court discusses the appeals of political forces protesting the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections.
It should be noted that Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party, is one of the three main rivals of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the elections.
