The number of people killed as a result of the strong earthquake in Venezuela has risen to 5208.
Modern.az reports that Jorge Rodriguez, the president of the Venezuelan National Assembly, released this information.
It was reported that 16,740 people were injured, and 17,907 people were left homeless as a result of the natural disaster. 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and 856 buildings were seriously damaged.
During search and rescue operations, 6462 people were rescued. Currently, 23,820 people are housed in 107 temporary camps, and food and other humanitarian aid are being provided to the victims.
It should be noted that two strong earthquakes occurred in Venezuela on June 24. The tremors had a magnitude of 7.2 and 7.5, respectively.
