Modern.az reports, citing "CNN", that Burnham, who replaced Keir Starmer, is the country's seventh prime minister in the last decade. Upon taking office, he promised a "new era of opportunities" for Britain and stated that his main goal was to restore political stability in the country.
In his speeches, the politician emphasized his intention to implement the governance model he applied during his tenure as Mayor of Greater Manchester across the entire country. Burnham plans to apply the "Manchesterism" model, based on an open approach to business, expanded powers for local government, and social-democratic principles, to London and other regions.
Having served as a Member of Parliament and a minister in the government for many years, Burnham has been the Mayor of Greater Manchester since 2017. He is known for his communication skills, ability to motivate people, and simple demeanor.
Burnham, who ran for the leadership of the Labour Party for the third time in the last 16 years, had stated during his election campaign that he would bring the country the "turning point it needs."
