Vahid Alekperov, originally from Baku, considered one of the world's richest oil magnates, continues to increase his wealth in 2026.
Modern.az reports that, according to the latest financial indicators, the wealth of the main shareholder of "LUKOIL" has increased to $29.5 billion. This means that the billionaire has acquired approximately $800 million in additional wealth since the beginning of 2026.
Alekperov is currently one of Russia's richest businessmen, as well as one of the world's most influential energy billionaires. In 2025 alone, Vahid Alekperov earned nearly $2.4 billion from dividends received from "LUKOIL". He currently owns approximately 28.3 percent of the company's shares.
It should be recalled that Vahid Alekperov was born in Baku in 1950.
