Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced that he would nominate world-renowned chess player Judit Polgár for the post of president of the country.
Modern.az reports that Peter Magyar shared this on his social media account.
He stated that the main duty of the head of state is to serve all Hungarian people and to represent the country with dignity.
"The duty of the president is to serve and represent. Both every Hungarian citizen and all of Hungary. Judit Polgár, who is recommended for the presidency by influential Hungarian public figures today, is exactly such a person. Therefore, I will meet with her tomorrow and ask if she is ready to serve our country in this position until a new Constitution is adopted," Magyar noted.
It should be noted that Judit Polgár is considered one of the strongest female chess players in the history of world chess. She led the world ranking among women for many years and managed to defeat a number of world champions during her career.
