Denmark will send a combat battalion to Latvia in the coming days as part of strengthening NATO's eastern flank.
Modern.az reports that the battalion will operate as part of the Canadian-led multinational NATO brigade. As part of the deployment, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and other military equipment will be transported from Danish ports to Latvia.
Personnel are expected to arrive in Latvia by the end of this month, and the mission will continue until January 2027.
This is the fifth combat battalion Denmark has sent to Latvia since 2022. Official Copenhagen announced that the purpose of the mission is to strengthen NATO's deterrence potential against Russia.
