The Turkish government is imposing restrictions on the passage of merchant ships to the Black Sea due to concerns about the intensification of attacks on ships by Russia and Ukraine in the region.

Modern.az reports that "Bloomberg" agency spread information about this, citing sources.

The Turkish Coast Guard General Directorate sent warnings to several ships heading to Novorossiysk, considered one of the most important centers for oil and grain exports. It was stated that in the current situation, the passage of these ships is either not allowed at all, or additional time is required to evaluate applications for passage through the Dardanelles Strait.

However, the exact duration and scope of the imposed restrictions are not yet known.
