Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he was not sure the war would end soon and was concerned that the upcoming winter would be tough for both Ukraine and all of Europe.
Modern.az reports that he spoke about this during a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Belgrade on August 8.
“I am not sure that the war will end soon, and I am afraid that there will be a tough winter ahead for both Ukraine and all of us. I don't see a way for the war to end soon,” said the Serbian president.
Vučić also said that Ukraine can count on Serbia's support on its path to European Union membership. He stated that Belgrade supports the UN Charter and the principle of territorial integrity of all member states, including Ukraine.
According to him, Serbia and Ukraine can achieve serious results in the energy and agriculture sectors. Today, a memorandum of “mutual understanding” was also signed between Ukraine and Serbia.
