Former Barcelona head coach Xavi has been appointed as the head coach of the Netherlands national team.

Modern.az reports that the press service of the Royal Netherlands Football Association announced this.

A contract has been signed with the 46-year-old Spanish specialist until 2030.

Xavi replaced Ronald Koeman as head coach of the Netherlands national team. Koeman left the national team after the 2026 World Cup.

Xavi led Barcelona from 2021-2024. During his tenure as head coach, the Catalan club won the Spanish championship and the country's Super Cup.
