Forbes magazine has presented a new list of Russia's richest businessmen.
According to Modern.az, the list includes a total of 155 billionaires.
The top five richest Russian businessmen are:
Alexey Mordashov – 37 billion dollars
Vladimir Potanin – 29.5 billion dollars
Vahid Alakbarov – 29.5 billion dollars
Leonid Mikhelson and family – 28 billion dollars
Suleyman Kerimov and family – 25.7 billion dollars
As the list shows, Russia's third richest person is Vahid Alakbarov, the former owner of "Lukoil", chairman of the Public Council of the "Our Future" Foundation, and an Azerbaijani businessman.
In addition, the list also includes three more billionaires of Azerbaijani origin – Zarakh Iliev, God Nisanov, and Farkhad Akhmedov.
Zarakh Iliev is ranked 37th with a fortune of 5.1 billion dollars. He is the co-founder of "Kievskaya Ploshchad". In 2022, "Kievskaya Ploshchad" company launched the second gastro-quarter – "Depo Tri Vokzala" – in the area near Kazan railway station. In 2024, the company acquired the building of the Central Children's Store (Lubyanka). The area of the object is approximately 70 thousand square meters.
God Nisanov, who is ranked 38th with a fortune of 5.1 billion dollars, is also Zarakh Iliev's partner. He is the co-owner of the "Kievskaya Ploshchad" group, which owns large assets such as "Evropeyskiy", "Shchelkovskiy", "Moskva-Tyan'ya" car trading center, "Food City" agrocluster, "Depo" and "Central Market" gastro-centers, as well as Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow ("Ukraina") and "Radisson Royal" hotels.
Farkhad Akhmedov, who is ranked 86th on the list, has a fortune estimated at 1.7 billion dollars. In November 2012, he sold 49 percent of his shares in "Northgaz" company to Novatek for 1.375 billion US dollars. He directed part of the funds obtained to shares of large companies such as "Novatek", "Lukoil", "Gazprom", "Norilsk Nickel", "Sberbank" and "Magnit".
