A significant natural gas agreement has been signed between Turkey's "BOTAŞ" company and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), France's "TotalEnergies" and the United Arab Emirates' "ADNOC" companies.
Modern.az reports that this was announced by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.
According to the Ministry, the strong energy cooperation between the two countries has entered a new phase within the framework of Baku Energy Week. Within the framework of this gas supply agreement signed during the Baku Energy Forum, the transfer of natural gas to Turkey will be ensured through new production investments in the "Absheron" field.
Regarding the issue, Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that within the framework of the agreement, 2.25 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be imported annually from Azerbaijan's "Absheron" field, totaling 33 billion cubic meters over 15 years.
