Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that there is a direct link between the security situation in the north of the country and stability in Beirut.
Modern.az reports that the minister compared the status of Beirut's Dahiya district with that of Israel's northern communities.
“The status of Dahiya in Beirut is the same as the status of communities in northern Israel. If there is no calm in the north, there will be no calm in Beirut,” said Israel Katz.
The minister's statement comes at a time of a deteriorating security situation in the region and ongoing Israel-Lebanon tensions.
