Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the possible exclusion of major opposition forces from the parliamentary elections in Armenia could call into question the legitimacy of the elections.
Modern.az reports that Maria Zakharova spoke about this at a briefing.
According to her, Moscow is concerned about reports of the exclusion of the largest opposition political forces from participating in the parliamentary elections in Armenia.
Zakharova claimed that instead of pre-election political competition, there is a struggle against democratic procedures in the country.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also criticized the possibility of excluding the "Strong Armenia" movement and the "Prosperous Armenia" Party from the elections.
"This would be a crime against democracy," Zakharova said.
