Demand for laboratory-grown diamonds is rapidly increasing in China.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that the main reason for this is the increasing need for cooling high-performance chips in the context of the development of artificial intelligence technologies.
It is noted that modern artificial intelligence chips generate a large amount of heat during operation. As computing power increases, their effective cooling becomes a more complex issue. For this reason, diamond has become the focus of attention as a new generation material in the technology sector.
Experts state that the thermal conductivity of diamond is significantly higher compared to copper and aluminum. Therefore, synthetic diamonds have begun to be used as heat-conducting components for cooling advanced chips.
Market participants have also reacted quickly to this trend. Thus, the shares of the Chinese manufacturer "Zhecheng Huifeng Diamond" company increased by 51 percent in the last week, and the shares of SF Diamond company increased by 40 percent.
At the same time, several Chinese manufacturers announced that they have started commercial supply of these components after successful trials among customers.
Experts believe that in the context of the expansion of artificial intelligence technologies and data centers, the demand for diamond-based cooling technologies will continue to increase, and this will form a new promising market segment in the technology industry.
