The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on the Israeli Cabinet's unanimous decision to officially recognize the “1915 events” as the “Armenian genocide”.
According to Modern.az, the statement from the Turkish MFA says:
“The Israeli government, which carries out systematic oppression against the Palestinian people before the eyes of the whole world and is involved in a trial by the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide against the residents of Gaza, is trying to cover up its crimes through the political resolution it adopted regarding the 1915 events.
This biased initiative, which ignores legal and historical facts, clearly demonstrates the situation of Benjamin Netanyahu and his associates, against whom arrest warrants have been issued by the International Criminal Court for crimes committed against Palestinians.
Turkey will resolutely continue its activities towards ending Israel's expansionist and destabilizing policy in the region, as well as holding the Netanyahu government accountable before the law for crimes targeting civilians, primarily against Palestinians.”
