Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Tehran supports the idea of cooperation with Persian Gulf countries to ensure security in the region.

"Araqchi confirmed Iran's readiness for dialogue with the states located on the coast of the Persian Gulf with the aim of creating a collective security mechanism. This mechanism should be independent, built on consensus and free from foreign military intervention," the report says.
According to the TV channel, Araqchi made this statement during his visit to Baghdad.
According to the information, the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry called for a new approach to regional security based on the principles of "cooperation and mutual trust."
Speaking about the future management of the Strait of Hormuz, Araqchi emphasized that Iran will take the necessary steps in accordance with its obligations arising from the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States, and will also continue cooperation with the neighboring coastal state of Oman and dialogue with the countries of the region.
