Armenian Ambassador to the US Narek Mkrtchyan met with William Cunningham, Director of the International Programs Office of the US Geological Survey.
Modern.az reports that “Armenpress” disseminated information about this, citing the Armenian Embassy in the US.
During the meeting, the experience of forming the US geological survey system and possible directions of cooperation based on this experience were discussed. The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of Armenia-US cooperation in the field of rare and strategically important minerals.
During the conversation, the importance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Charter signed in May of this year, as well as the Framework Memorandum on ensuring supply in the field of extraction and processing of critical minerals and rare earth elements, was particularly emphasized.
The parties noted that these documents create new opportunities for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of geology, mineral exploration, and strategic raw material resource management.
