The 1/16 final matches have started in the FIFA World Cup hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Modern.az reports that one match was played on the first day of the competition. The Canadian national team, one of the hosts of the World Cup, faced the South African Republic (SAR) team.
The fate of the match, played at the "SoFi" Stadium in Los Angeles, was decided by one goal. Stephen Eustáquio's goal in the 90+2nd minute advanced the Canadian team to the 1/8 finals.
It should be noted that the Canadian national team will face the winner of the Netherlands - Morocco pair in the next round.
