Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces Eyal Zamir has approved plans for further military operations in Southern Lebanon.

Modern.az reports that the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released information about this.

It was stated that Eyal Zamir visited the headquarters of the Northern Command, assessed the operational situation, held discussions with brigade commanders, and approved plans for continuing operations in Southern Lebanon.

The Chief of Staff called the recently signed agreement with Lebanon a historic step and emphasized that Israel would remain committed to its implementation.

"We will abide by the agreement and work for its successful implementation. Now the main test will be the steps taken by the parties, and the upcoming period will determine the future," Zamir said.

He added that the safety of Israeli soldiers in Southern Lebanon remains a priority. According to Zamir, the 36th division of the Israeli army and its special forces brigades continue operational control in the Beaufort mountain range area.
