The number of people killed as a result of the devastating earthquake in Venezuela has reached 4,118.
Modern.az reports that this was announced by the Speaker of the country's National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez.
According to the information, 16,740 people were injured and 17,907 people were left homeless as a result of the natural disaster.
It was reported that 190 buildings were completely destroyed and 856 buildings were seriously damaged. During search and rescue operations, 6,462 people were rescued, and 29,966 people received treatment in hospitals and other medical institutions.
According to the information, 86,794 families were provided with assistance, and 9,766 tons of food were distributed to the victims.
It should be noted that a strong earthquake occurred in Venezuela on the evening of June 24. Two underground tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded with an interval of approximately 40 seconds.
