Alen Simonyan has been appointed the new Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia. He replaced Armen Grigoryan in this position.
Modern.az reports that the relevant order was signed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Earlier, speaking at a government meeting, Pashinyan stated that Grigoryan was participating in that meeting for the last time as Secretary of the Security Council. Grigoryan held this position for approximately 8 years.
Earlier, Armenian media reported that the Secretary of the Security Council would be replaced.
The “Hraparak” newspaper wrote that Pashinyan did not intend to reappoint Grigoryan to this position.
Later, “MakaryanNews” reported that this post could be entrusted to Alen Simonyan, the former speaker of parliament, who remained without a position after the parliamentary elections held on June 7.
Thus, the information about Simonyan's appointment as Secretary of the Security Council has been officially confirmed.
