Sources in the Pakistani government said that the US and Iran have agreed to extend the ceasefire, which will expire on August 17.

Modern.az reports that sources in the Pakistani government told “Anadolu” Agency about this.

It was noted that the US and Iran confirmed the extension of the 60-day ceasefire stipulated in the Islamabad Agreement signed on June 17.

According to a source close to the mediation process, Washington and Tehran informed the mediators that they agreed to extend the ceasefire. However, it is not yet clear for how long the ceasefire will be extended after August 17. It is reported that contacts between the parties on this issue are continuing.

It should be noted that Washington and Tehran signed the Islamabad Agreement on June 17 to stop the war that began with the attacks of the US and Israel on Iran. According to the agreement, a 60-day negotiation period was set to reach a final agreement.
