South Azerbaijani writer Ali Chagla, well-known in the Republic of Azerbaijan, was not allowed into the country from Baku International Airport and was deported to Iran.
Modern.az reports that Ali Chagla himself disseminated information about this.
He stated that he flew to Baku from Tehran today on an 11:00 flight. Only upon landing in Baku did he remember that, according to new rules, the procedure for obtaining a visa at the airport had been canceled:
“Now visas are obtained electronically 3-5 days in advance. When I arrived in Baku - Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the employees of the Border Service informed me that there was no visa and returned me to Tehran with a deportation document.”
Ali Chagla noted that he was invited to Baku for the VI Turkic World Literature and Book Festival and was coming to Baku for the festival.
It should be noted that the VI Turkic World Literature and Book Festival will be held in Baku on May 22-26. (Musavat.com )
