Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk once again made a statement regarding Armenia's future in the Eurasian Economic Union.
Modern.az reports that in an interview with TASS agency, he said that Moscow does not want Armenia to leave the EAEU:
"I repeat once again, we do not want Armenia to leave the EAEU. We want Armenia to continue to develop. But we see the problems that will arise in case of joining or approaching the European Union. In principle, those problems are already arising."
Overchuk noted that during the 11 years of Armenia's participation in the EAEU, both the standard of living and GDP in the country have significantly increased.
According to the Russian official, these results were mainly achieved due to economic concessions provided within the EAEU, and "no one can compensate Armenia for this."
Moscow's statement draws attention against the background of Armenia expanding its relations with the European Union in recent months.
