“Manchester City” has attracted a new football player to its squad.
Modern.az reports that the English club has signed a contract with Chelsea's 25-year-old midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine footballer will wear the “Citizens” jersey until 2031.
In the statement released by “Manchester City”, the signing of a contract with Enzo Fernandez was officially confirmed. Enzo Fernandez has equaled the record of “Newcastle” striker Alexander Isak with his move to “Manchester City”.
“Manchester City” will pay “Chelsea” 125 million pounds sterling for the transfer of the Argentine midfielder. This amount is considered one of the most expensive transfers in the history of the English Premier League.
Enzo Fernandez also set a record when he moved from “Benfica” to “Chelsea” in the winter transfer window of the 2022/23 season. The London club paid 121 million euros to the Portuguese representative for that transfer. This amount was recorded as the most expensive transfer in the history of the Premier League at that time.
Fernandez, who spent 3.5 seasons at “Chelsea”, scored 31 goals in 170 games.
