Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov gave an extensive interview to Turkish media.
The first face-to-face interview with S. Lavrov for Turkish media was conducted by Sevil Nuriyeva, a well-known Azerbaijani journalist residing in the fraternal country. Lavrov answered the journalist's questions regarding the Ukraine war, Turkey-Russia, US-Russia relations, and other topics.
Modern.az reports that Lavrov touched upon a point related to Azerbaijan in the interview.
The Russian minister noted that Azerbaijan is one of the main leaders of the "3+3" format:
"The South Caucasus region is a common neighbor of Turkey and Russia. Turkey, along with Azerbaijan, was one of the main leaders of the “3+3” format. A meeting at the ministerial level has already taken place. Now, the next – third meeting at the ministerial level is being prepared. Our Georgian neighbors refrain from participating in this format. However, we always inform them that the doors are open. My colleague Hakan Fidan actively supports the third ministerial meeting. Currently, the venue for the meeting is being determined."
