According to the information from the National Hydrometeorological Service, a change in weather conditions, strong and intermittently intensifying winds, as well as precipitation of varying intensity, are expected across the country in the coming days. Such weather conditions seriously affect road safety and create additional risks.
In this regard, the traffic police urge all road users to be more careful and strictly adhere to traffic rules.
We note that in rainy and windy weather, drivers should choose their speed according to road and weather conditions, maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and avoid sudden maneuvers and unjustified overtakes. Vehicle headlights and light signals must be in good working order, and dipped beams and side lights should always be on. When visibility is reduced, fog lights should only be used when necessary, and high beams should not be used to avoid dazzling oncoming vehicles.
Pedestrians, in conditions of limited visibility, should only cross the road at designated crossings and act more carefully and cautiously so that drivers can see them in time.
It should be particularly noted that windy weather conditions create serious difficulties in the operation of two-wheeled vehicles, including mopeds, motorcycles, and scooters. As a result of strong winds, the risk of losing balance and overturning in these types of vehicles significantly increases, posing a real danger to drivers, other vehicles, and pedestrians alike.
In the current weather conditions, the responsible behavior of every road user, demonstrating mutual attention and understanding, plays a crucial role in preventing road traffic accidents.
