A court hearing was held on the cassation appeal filed against the decision concerning Elsun Ahmadov, former judge of Barda District Court.
Modern.az reports that a decision was made today at the Supreme Court in the proceedings chaired by Judge Ilgar Jafarov.
According to the decision, the appeal was not satisfied, and the verdict was upheld.
It should be recalled that, according to the verdict of the Ganja Court of Grave Crimes, Elsun Ahmadov was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment and was arrested in the courtroom.
The Ganja Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the lower instance court.
It should be noted that the ex-judge was accused of taking a large sum of money from a relative of the accused in one of the cases under his jurisdiction. His illegal activity was uncovered in February 2024 by the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General.
E. Ahmadov was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment by the verdict of the Ganja Court of Grave Crimes. He was handcuffed in the courtroom.
