The speakers of the Armenian and Azerbaijani parliaments, Alen Simonyan and Sahiba Gafarova, have agreed to continue relations through parliamentary channels.
Modern.az reports that the press service of the Armenian parliament released information about this, providing details of the meeting held in Istanbul.
During the talks, the parties noted with satisfaction the recent progress in the normalization process of relations between the two countries. The discussion focused, in particular, on steps aimed at strengthening peace and stability, as well as prospects for establishing and expanding trade and economic ties.
The speakers emphasized the important role of the Inter-Parliamentary Union as a key platform for the development of dialogue.
The positive dynamics in the interaction of parliamentary delegations within international organizations was also specifically noted. These contacts intensified after the meeting held in Geneva in October 2025, and the parties agreed to continue them on a regular basis.
The parliamentary speakers also stressed the importance of consistent and constructive dialogue for strengthening trust between the societies of the two countries.
