"To ensure lasting security in the Strait of Hormuz, the US naval blockade and military interventions must end."
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei.
According to him, the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of temporary and safe maritime routes between Iran and Oman is expected to be discussed at a meeting to be held in Oman on Monday.
Baghaei noted that achieving a regional agreement does not mean that full and lasting security will be ensured in the strategic waterway.
"The restoration of lasting security is only possible with the cessation of US destabilizing actions, the lifting of the naval blockade, and the halt of military interventions," the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized.
