The sharing of photos of Israeli actress Gal Gadot on the official Instagram page of the famous American fashion brand "Ralph Lauren" has caused protests on social networks.
Modern.az reports that, according to International "Business Times", users called for a boycott of the brand after the post was published on September 9.
The photos were taken by photographer Tal Abadi at "The Jaffa Hotel". Gal Gadot, known for her "Wonder Woman" character, posed in front of the camera in a golden dress and shoes from "Ralph Lauren"'s 2026 autumn collection.
In the description of the post, the brand used the phrase "Actress Gal Gadot shines on the cover of 'Modern Luxury' magazine".
The post caused strong reactions on the brand's page, which has over 16.7 million followers. Some users called for a boycott of the company's products and wrote comments such as "Goodbye, Ralph Lauren", "No Zionists" and "Big disappointment".
However, some users defended the brand and met the boycott calls with sarcasm. They reminded of the company's founder Ralph Lauren.
It should be noted that Ralph Lauren, born in New York in 1939,'s real surname was Lifshitz. He was born into a Jewish immigrant family who moved to the USA from Eastern Europe. The future designer changed his surname to Lauren at the age of 16.
