The Constitutional Court of Armenia has made a decision on the agreement on the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project.
Modern.az reports that the court concluded that the obligations arising from the framework agreement signed between Armenia and the USA do not contradict the country's Constitution.
Although three days were allotted for the consideration of the issue, the Constitutional Court made a decision in less than one day. The case was investigated by written procedure, without oral hearings. Armenian media reported that the decision was announced on September 16.
The TRIPP project envisages the creation of a transport connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the south of Armenia.
After the decision of the Constitutional Court, the agreement is expected to be submitted to the Armenian parliament for ratification. The Armenian government had previously announced that the ratification process would be carried out in this sequence
