US President Donald Trump shared an article by special envoy Steve Witkoff, published in the “Washington Examiner” and dedicated to peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, on his “Truth Social” account.
Modern.az reports that in an article he wrote a few weeks ago, Witkoff stated that it was an honor for him to serve as a special envoy to advance the US President's peace agenda in global conflicts.
“It has been an honor for me, as the President's special envoy for peace missions, to advance his peace agenda in global conflicts. President Trump has prioritized ensuring peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, going beyond the framework that his predecessors considered impossible,” Witkoff noted.
He added that in the five months following August 2025, the US held intensive meetings in Baku and Yerevan. This resulted in an initiative called the “Trump Way.”
According to Witkoff, within this framework, the US collaborated with Armenia to work on creating unhindered multimodal routes within the country. At the same time, Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty were fully protected.
“Trump solved a problem that had left diplomats in a stalemate for decades by focusing on practical results rather than the execution of the process. This approach proved successful,” the special envoy wrote.
According to him, the TRIPP concept is currently recognized worldwide as a model for resolving intractable disputes through creativity, power, and mutual interests.
Witkoff stated that over the past year, the US has worked on implementing the agreement with Azerbaijan and Armenia. This framework utilized engineering studies of railway infrastructure, public-private partnerships, and capital investment mechanisms.
“We predict that TRIPP will expand across the Caspian Sea, and this concept will also be developed in the Middle East,” Witkoff wrote.
