Azerbaijan and Turkey discussed expanding cooperation and mutual coordination on multilateral platforms.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

The minister noted that a broad exchange of views was held on cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and its agencies, the Organization of Turkic States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Economic Cooperation Organization, D-8, OSCE and other multilateral platforms.

“We particularly discussed cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States. The next Summit of the organization will be held in Turkey next month. Today, we had useful discussions regarding preparations for the Summit.

The Organization of Turkic States holds special importance for both Azerbaijan and Turkey. It is a family organization that unites brotherly countries. Strengthening solidarity and improving coordination within it is of particular importance for both countries,” Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized.

The Foreign Minister also stated that Azerbaijan will fully support Turkey, which will host COP31:

“As the COP29 chair, Azerbaijan expresses its full support to Turkey, which will host COP31. Our team, which participated in the holding of COP29 and is active in the field of climate diplomacy, will also contribute to the successful organization of COP31.”
