A shooting occurred in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, resulting in the death of 2 Azerbaijanis. The perpetrator has been detained by the police.
Modern.az reports, citing local media, that according to information from the Mykolaiv regional police, the incident was recorded on June 30, on Heroiv Ukrainy Avenue.
According to witnesses, several gunshots were heard from a moving "Opel" car, after which the vehicle drove onto a regulated intersection. According to preliminary information, there were 2 citizens of Azerbaijan and 1 citizen of Kyrgyzstan in the car.
As a result of the shooting, two of our compatriots died on the spot. The third injured participant in the incident was detained by law enforcement officers. The weapon, which was the instrument of the crime, was confiscated from the car.
Police officers secured the crime scene and carried out initial investigative actions. Police investigators, criminalists, and an operational group were involved in the area. Currently, all details of the incident are being investigated, and the issue of giving a legal assessment to the incident is being considered.
