The Hamas movement has agreed to hand over governance in the Gaza Strip to a newly established technocratic administration.
Modern.az reports that the “Al-Arabiya” TV channel has disseminated this information, citing Mahmoud al-Habash, advisor to the head of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
According to him, the 15-member administration will take over the governance of Gaza and will operate within the framework of the plan agreed upon last year by US President Donald Trump. The administration will work in conjunction with the Palestinian National Authority, but will be independent in its decisions.
It was stated that the main task of the administration is the resolution of humanitarian issues, the provision of essential services to the population, and the prevention of the displacement of the Palestinian population. Political issues will not fall within the administration's mandate.
